Heracles Almelo have moved up to fifth in the Eredivisie after coming from behind to defeat De Graafschap 2-1.

De Graafschap were looking for a victory that would lift them out of the drop zone and after 16 minutes they took the lead. Charlison Benschop skillfully found the far corner after a cross by El Jebli.

The hosts had chances to make it 2-0 before the break but couldn’t take them while at the other end, Heracles struggled to create chances.

After the break, Heracles went searching for the equaliser and in the 66th minute Brandley Kuwas found it with a lovely volley from just inside the box. Four minutes later, Heracles had the lead when Lerin Duarte found the top corner.

De Graafschap pushed for an equaliser but Heracles held on for the three points.

The hosts remain 17th while Heracles move above Vitesse Arnhem up to fifth.
