According to De Telegraaf Guus Hiddink has an agreement in principle to replace Louis van Gaal as Netherlands coach next summer.

hiddink bHiddink was originally Netherlands coach between 1995 and 1998, but is set to take over for his second spell after next years World Cup.

According to De telegraaf, Hiddink will lead the Dutch national side to the 2016 European Championships and then take up a position in the technical staff.

On Friday, Hiddink confirmed that he had held informal conversations with the KNVB over the position, but no decision had been made.

The KNVB reportedly are now waiting to hear who Hiddink wants to assist him in the job, with Clarence Seedorf, and Ronald De Boer said to be candidates.

The 67-year-old has previously managed the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, and PSV, while he led the Oranje to the World Cup semi final in 1998 during his first spell in charge.

Now confirmation is expected over the coming months that Hiddink will officially be Louis van Gaal’s replacement.
