UEFA have now decided that all domestic campaigns have to be finished by the third of August, and not the end of June.

After the Dutch government stated on Tuesday that there would be no professional football played until at least the 1st of June, the KNVB announced they were waiting for the results of the UEFA meeting on Wednesday before making a decision on the Eredivisie.

During the meeting UEFA moved the date that European competitions can be finished from June 30th to August 3rd. The KNVB have now announced the hope that they will be able to finish the domestic campaign.

The KNVB have released a statement with the hope that they can restart the domestic competition in the second half of June. That would give them six weeks to complete the Eredivisie and Keuken Kampioen Divisie campaigns.

However, this plan is still dependent on how the Corona virus develops. No football will be played if the KNVB cannot ensure the safety of the clubs and fans.

A scenario in which the season is completely cancelled is then still under consideration.
