huntelaar abAfter spending several weeks out with a knee injury, Huntelaar returned to training with Schalke today with an eye on returning to action this weekend against Eintracht Braunschweig.

However according to several German Media outlets the striker was forced to leave the session early after colliding with a team mate.

Huntelaar was seen leaving the pitch with an ice pack strapped to his damaged knee, after aggravating the injury.

The seriousness of the new injury is still unknown, and will come as a massive frustration to the 30 year old, who has been out since August.

So far this season, Huntelaar has only appeared twice, once in the league, and in the German cup, with the striker netting three times.

With the World Cup at the end of the season, Huntelaar will be looking to return to fitness as soon as possible, and challenge Robin van Persie for a starting spot.
