A Klaas-Jan Huntelaar double helped Ajax see off PEC Zwolle 3-0 and record their third win of the season.

Marcel Keizer decided to start both Kasper Dolberg and Huntelaar up front in the Johan Cruyff ArenA and it only took the latter six minutes to open the scoring. Donny van de Beek swept an excellent long ball to David Neres on the right wing and the Brazilian beat his man before sending in a cross for Huntelaar to backheel past Diederik Boer.

Despite the early goal, Ajax struggled to add a second with Matthijs de Ligt off target with a header, while Kasper Dolberg blasted a good chance over the bar. At the other end PEC Zwolle grew in confidence and Joel Veltman had to make an excellent last ditch tackle to deny Mustafa Saymak a certain equaliser.

At the start of the second half, Ajax continued to miss chances, and Keizer reacted by switching Van de Beek and Neres for Frenkie de Jong and Justin Kluivert. The latter had an instant impact as he was brought down by Bram van Polen and awarded a penalty. Hakim Ziyech saw his spot kick saved by Boer.

Ziyech soon made up for his missed penalty by netting from close range after Kluivert found him at the back post. Before the end, De Jong set up Huntelaar to net his second and seal the victory for Ajax.

Ajax climb to 4th spot with the win, while PEC Zwolle are fifth.
