Klaas-Jan Huntelaar spoke to the NOS at the Ajax training camp in Austria and stated how much he was enjoying being back in the Netherlands since signing from FC Schalke 04 earlier this summer.

Huntelaar said “I had a good feeling about a return to Ajax. I was looking for a new challenge after FC Schalke 04 and sometimes you can go abroad after leaving a club which is not always the right decision but returning to Ajax was different.
“It is also great to be back in the Netherlands and to be training with young Dutch players and speaking my own language. It feels like I have come home.
“I am positive about the coming season and I want to play as much as possible.”
Klaas – Jan Huntelaar was Eredivisie topscorer in 2006 and 2008.

It will be great to see him back at Ajax. It’s unlikely he will play a ton of minutes, but if he does he’s still a better option for CF in the national team than Dost or Janssen….even at what will be age 34 by the time the next qualifiers start.
