Klaas jan Huntelaar hopes to quickly sign a new deal with Schalke after stating his commitment to the German Bundesliga side.

huntelaar fsjbHuntelaar’s current deal with Schalke ends after next season, and doubts over the striker’s future with the club had begun to rise, with a move to England speculated.

However the 29-year-old has stated his intent to sign a new deal quickly in the summer, and confirmed he will definitely be a Schalke player next season.

Huntelaar told Bild, “We certainly will not talk endlessly about a new contract during the season. I’ve always said that I feel very good here, ”

“Im a Schalke player next season.”

This news will be a huge relief for fans of Schalke, with Huntelaar a club favourite after scoring 90 goals in 138 appearances for the club since joining from AC Milan in 2010. The Dutchman’s 11 goals in 17 appearances this season have propelled Schalke into the Champions League places for next season.
