AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi must make a decision about his international future after being included in Morocco’s provisional squad for upcoming matches against Cameroon and Tunisia.

The 22-year-old was born in the Netherlands and has represented Oranje at various youth levels, most recently the U21’s. However, he is eligible to play for Morocco thanks to his parents.

Idrissi is yet to receive a call-up for the full Dutch national team and may now switch his allegiances to the Atlas Lions after Harve Renard named him in his provisional Morocco squad. Should he make the final cut, Idrissi will have to decide whether to accept the call-up.

AZ boss John van den Brom told the club’s website, “They (Morocco) did that last international period, but then Oussama indicated that he wanted to finish the series at the Dutch National Junior Team. But I understand that he has not yet made the final choice between Orange and Morocco. ”

This season, Idrissi has scored eight goals for AZ Alkmaar in 14 appearances.
