Mohamed Ihattaren will have to wait to make his Netherlands debut after being forced to pull out of the squad with an illness.

The youngster missed PSV’s win over Willem II on Sunday evening and has now the KNVB have confirmed that he will not be part of the upcoming Netherlands squad.

His PSV Eindhoven teammate Denzel Dumfries has been called up as a replacement.

It means the Netherlands must wait to finally cap Ihattaren, who can still switch to the Moroccan national team. The 18-year-old was on the bench for the Nations League games against Poland and Italy earlier this year but didn’t make an appearance. He then missed last month’s matches through an injury.
