Lex Immers is now a free agent after having his contract with ADO Den Haag terminated.

The 34-year-old still had two years left on his contract in the Hague, but has now departed ADO Den Haag by mutual consent.

Immers would not have played regularly in the starting line up next season and his wages meant ADO Den Haag were willing to let him depart.

The ex-Feyenoord midfielder told the club’s website, “Of course it feels strange to leave the club after having played in the first team for eight seasons in total. But the feeling that predominates in my mind is that ADO Den Haag has meant a lot in my life. I had a great period at this beautiful club and have always worn the beautiful shirt with pride. Although I will focus on something new, I will cherish all the beautiful memories at ADO Den Haag forever and my love for the club will never disappear.”
