Lex Immers has left Club Brugge after six months in Belgium due to family reasons.

The midfielder swapped Cardiff City for Club Brugge in January, and made sixteen league appearances, scoring once.

Immers told the official Club Brugge website, “I do not regret my adventure at Club Brugge.

“I felt at home from the first moment in this club. Due to family reasons, I now choose to go closer to home to work. In the coming weeks I will look at my options and make a choice.”

One option for the 31-year-old is a return to his hometown club ADO Den Haag. Club director Jeffrey van As told AD, “He is obviously a player that suits us.”
