De Graafschap have sacked their manager Jan Vreman after a poor start to the season.

vreman graafDe Graafschap who were relegated from the Eredivisie last season, lost 5-3 at home to FC Oss last Friday and are now a disappointing 16th place in the Jupiler League.

Jan Vreman has been involved with De Graafschap his whole career as a player, assistant and youth team manager. He still has a contract for life with the Superboeren .

General director Hans Veldhorst released a statement: ”We will now look to see role Jan Vreman can fulfil at De Graafschap. We cannot afford and do not want to miss him and his enormous recognisable qualities that he has shown in the previous decades at this club.”

De Graafschap are hopeful that with a new manager than can still be in with a chance of the promotion play-offs come the end of the season.
