janssen-goalThe striker hadn’t found the net in his previous seven appearances in the Premier League, with his only two goals for Tottenham coming from penalties in the League cup.

However, he ended that drought on Saturday after earning a penalty in the first half against Leicester City. Janssen picked himself up to net from the spot and end a 450 minute wait for a league goal. The striker nearly added more in the second half but shot a free kick just over before sliding a shot past the post as Leicester fought back to earn a 1-1 draw.

After the game, Janssen told the official Spurs website that he was disappointed with the result despite scoring, “The fans have always been behind me and I’m pleased I could give something back with a goal but we wanted more.”
