Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettinho has confirmed that Vincent Janssen will return to the club’s first team after missing out on a move elsewhere.

The Dutch international forward was set to depart Tottenham in January after Pochettinho stated that he was not part of his or the club’s plans. However, a move never materialised with moves to Schalke and Real Betis breaking down in the final days of the window.
Pochettinho took a press conference on Friday ahead of the clash with Newcastle United on Saturday and was asked about Janssen, who has been training with the U23’s and wasn’t given a squad number at the start of the season.
The Tottenham boss confirmed that Janssen will be given a place in the squad again and return to first-team training.
He said, “We have two free places (in the squad), with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou going to Monaco and Dembele to China, and he (Janssen) is going to be on the list.
“That is my decision – that he is going to be involved in the first team from today, and he is going to be like another player involved.
“We decided to send him on loan (last season) and then he was injured.
“We tried to find a solution, because the player wanted to leave the club, and the club wanted to provide him another place to play football – but that was impossible.
“The most important thing now is to treat him as a person in the best way. He is a person and not a chair, or a sofa, or furniture, and he will be involved with the first team and try to do his best, and try to get fit and be competitive.
“He won’t be in the squad tomorrow but he is going to be once more in the squad and in the team.”
Janssen deserves a second chance just like Sissoko . I’m betting he’ll be a different player this time with more confidence. He’ll produce this time.
