The striker joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar last summer, but his first season in England didn’t go as desired, with Janssen only netting twice in 27 Premier League games.

Speaking to AD after arriving with the Netherlands squad in Portugal, Janssen said he knows his first season with Spurs hasn’t gone as hoped, and he will discuss his future with the club after the upcoming internationals.

Janssen said, “I would first like to focus on the Dutch national team. Then we see how well all parties see the future. I have always said: I give myself at least a year the chance at Spurs. I have played less than expected, but I am now a better player by working every day at the top of England.”

Galatasaray are once again being linked with a move for the 22-year-old, who cost Spurs close to £19 million a year ago.
