cillessen jbjfpreAjax may have lost 4-0 when the two sides met at the Nou Camp last season, but goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen goes to Catalonia with no fear of Lionel Messi, Neymar & co.

Cillessen told a press conference, “They were laughing when I said we were going to Brazil to win the world Cup. Okay, we did not win. But we stopped the laughter.”

On Barcelona, Cillessen added, “I think we can win there. That’s logical to me, or we might as well stay at home.”

“Last season we won at home 2-1. Away we lost 4-0, but we did quite well for a long time. We dared to play our game, and put pressure on them early.”

“We are getting better, it is now about gaining consistent results. A good result against Barcelona would help us. ”

Ajax have started their Champions League campaign with two draws, 1-1 at home against PSG, and 1-1 versus APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus. For any chance of gaining progress to the next round, Frank de Boer’s side realistically need to beat Barcelona in one of their two ties.
