The 22-year-old was a guest on Fox Sports show Tafel van Kees on Sunday morning and revealed honestly that he didn’t feel ready for a move abroad last summer.
Willems said, “I had the opportunity to go away.
“That PSV and my agent know too. But I did not really feel I was ready for it. I am someone who is honest to myself, if it’s not good, it is not good. And if it can not, it can not. Then you need as a footballer to say: you have to show more for a year. ”
However, Willems is now preparing himself for a move, “You have to be ready. I must now prepare myself for a foreign league after six years in the Netherlands. That ambition is natural. In England the football twice as hard as in the Eredivisie. ”
