ADO Den Haag started the game in Alkmaar brightly but they were reduced to ten men just after the half hour mark and went on to lose 2-0. AZ boss John van den Brom admitted that the game changed after the red card for ADO Den Haag’s Wilfried Kanon
He said ” I believe in the first half that we had more possession but ADO Den Haag had the better chances.
”The game changed after the red card for Wilfried Kanon and then us scoring the penalty through Wout Weghorst. From the moment we managed to see out the game.
”After the penalty we had chances but we did not take them eventually we scored 2-0 through Guus Til. We must improve our finishing and be more confident in front of goal in future Eredivisie matches.”
