Jong Ajax made history on Friday night as the youngest ever side to feature in a Keuken Kampioen Divisie game defeated Helmond Sport 2-0.

Mitchell van der Gaag named a line-up with an average age of only 18 years and 204 days, the youngest to ever feature in the Dutch second tier.

Sixteen-year-old’s Naci Ünüvar and Youri Regeer both started the game, with the latter making his debut in professional football.

Jong Ajax proved to strong for Helmond Sport with goals from Sontje Hansen and Alex Mendez sealing a 2-0 victory.
