The Dane was reportedly the subject of two failed bids from the Premier League side, who couldn’t meet Feyenoord’s asking price of £20 million.

The 27-year-old claimed that he only heard news on the bids through the media and believes a move to a big competition will happen in the future.

He said, “I did little myself and only talked to Martin van Geel at the end, that’s what it was. We agreed that I would stay, there was more talk in the press than with me, how close they were to a deal, I do not know, there was a high bid on the table, but I know very little about it. The only thing I know is what I’ve heard from the press. ”

On the Premier League, he added, “That’s a dream for every player, and if I play well enough, they (the clubs) will come, but now I’m still playing at Feyenoord. If I am ready for a big competition? Yes, if you take that step it improves your level, that’s how it is, if I work hard enough, I can be successful in another competition. “
