Streppel stated that he believed a draw was a fair result in the end but that his players were livid at the final whistle due to letting the game slip from their grasp.

He said, ”It was a great game today but for us to give a 2-0 and 3-2 lead away we can be very disappointed indeed. At 3-2 we should have gone on to win the game.

”FC Groningen is a team that is equal to us and they are a good team too. We have to learn to see out games.

”We have seven new players in our squad and it will take time for things to come together.

”My players were livid after the game but I believe that has to do with the emotion of the match.

” I believe that a draw was a fair result on reflection of the game today.”
