Heracles have signed defender Justin Hoogma to a three-year contract extension following his transfer from FC Twente in January.

hoogmaHeracles have begun planning their squad for next season following successful contract negotiations with young defender Justin Hoogma. The defender, aged seventeen, moved to the Polman Stadion in January from rivals FC Twente for an undisclosed fee. The defender’s new contract at Heracles is for an initial three years with an option for an additional year, should he impress and continue his promising development.

Hoogma has made three appearances for Heracles this season making his debut against FC Groningen in May. Chairman Jan Smit was keen to extend terms with the defender telling the official website “We hereby give a clear signal (with the new contract) that we all trust him” and Smit will be hoping that Hoogma continues to develop into an integral player.

Hoogma is also pleased to have agreed terms with the club saying “In the coming years, I am going to do everything to repay the trust that the club has in me.”

Heracles have equalled their best ever finish in the Eredivise this season, with a sixth place finish, and also guaranteed a place in Europe virtue of winning the Europa League playoffs. The club’s management will be hoping to build a squad capable of challenging for success again this season.
