Juventus and Ajax are still far apart over a transfer fee for Matthijs de Ligt.

The 19-year-old will return to the Ajax training ground on Monday which wasn’t the plan this summer. He expected to have a new club by the time his holiday was over.

Mino Raiola has confirmed in Italian media that a five-year contract has been agreed with Juventus. However, there is no agreement over a fee with Ajax.

Juventus have offered €50 million for De Ligt, which is far from Ajax’s asking price of €75 million.

Raiola has ruled out De Ligt forcing a transfer, though, as he looks to leave Amsterdam through the front door. He told De Telegraaf, “That is out of the question for us. I didn’t recommend that to Matthijs either, because it doesn’t suit his style and lifestyle.”

De Ligt will take part in Ajax’s training but expects a deal to eventually be wrapped up that will see him head to Turin.
