The right-back has only just recovered from injury and was making his first appearance for Roma on Wednesday.
Kardorp played 80 minutes of the game before being substituted. After the game, he had pain in his left knee and was taken to a hospital. Examinations showed that Karsdorp had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
Further examinations will be made before the length of Karsdorp’s absence can be confirmed.
