After being released by ADO Den Haag, Gervane Kastaneer has signed for Bundesliga 2 side FC Kaiserslautern. 

The 21-year-old winger has signed a three-year deal in Germany to join the second division side. He could have joined either Dinamo Moscow or Hellas Verona, but settled on the Bundesliga.2

Kastaneer had an excellent start to last season with ADO Den Haag and was all set to join Mainz in January before an eye injury scuppered the deal and ended his season.

The forward held talks with ADO Den Haag over a contract extension but was surprisingly told that he could leave instead, paving the way for a move to Germany.
