Marcel Keizer’s reign as Sporting club de Portugal boss has got off to a great start with the Dutchman winning four games out of four.

The former Ajax boss was a surprise appointment for the Portuguese giants last month but his appointment appears to have been a masterstroke so far with Sporting winning all four of his games in charge.

On Sunday, Sporting saw off Aves 4-1 and they are only two points off Porto at the top of the table. Keizer believes it is too early to discuss a title win, “I have been here for about a month now, we have to improve ourselves and then we see what happens. Nobody told me that it would be an easy project, but I love the challenge: that’s why I came to Sporting.”

Bas Dost also seems to be enjoying himself since Keizer took over with the Dutchman netting six goals in the last four matches.
