Friday 19th October (19:00 BST)

Telstar v NEC Nijmegen

Telstar picked up a second win in three against winless Helmond last week, which pushes them up into a more comfortable position of thirteenth. Another one here against NEC would be a great achievement and also most likely push them into the top half. For NEC, they’ve now lost back to back games without scoring which is a real shock since they were doing so well previously. They now sit seventh, five points off the top where they were a few weeks ago. 1-2

Cambuur v Helmond Sport

Cambuur, who were at one point flying have now lost their last three and have only scored once in four. Bleak showing from the side from Leeuwarden, however the perfect chance to make things right against the Helmond who are still somehow without a win. This should be fairly comfortable for Cambuur. 2-0 | Cambuur to Win

Almere City v Go Ahead Eagles

One of the two big games this Friday. Almere City, who sit joint top and unbeaten in seven, face Go Ahead who also sit joint top and come into this from a 3-0 thrashing over NEC. Expect plenty of goals in this one they are the leagues top scorers. Almere are three points ahead of the away side in the period standings, which means if they avoid defeat, it will be between themselves and Sparta fighting for the title next week which secures an early play-off spot. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL.  2-3 | Both Teams To Score

Dordrecht v Jong AZ

Bottom of the league Dordrecht face Jong AZ, who between them have accumulated just two wins in eighteen games so don’t expect a classic. AZ have drawn 2-2 in three of their last four matches! But I’m going for the home side to take three points and move off the foot of the table here. 1-0

Jong Ajax v RKC Waalwijk

It was another defeat for Jong Ajax on Monday, they fell short to Jong PSV losing 2-1. Very worrying times for boss Michael Reiziger, who’s side drop into the bottom half. Does this show the quality of the league improving since sides such as Twente, Sparta etc have come down, or is it simply a drop in performance levels from Ajax’s youth side who were champions last year. Despite this, Waalkwijk are unbeaten in seven so cannot give the away side much hope here. 2-0 | Jong Ajax to Win

FC Eindhoven v Volendam

After a dismal start to the campaign, FC Eindhoven have come flying out the blocks a month too late. Wins against NEC and Jong Ajax plus draws with Twente and Roda have seen them go unbeaten in four and move up to fourteenth. An incredible turn around considering the sides they’ve been playing. Volendam are unbeaten in three but have still only one once this season. 1-0

MVV Maastricht v Jong PSV

MVV picked up a rememberable victory against Twente last week at the Grolsch Veste. It’s a win that keeps them in and around mid table. They will fancy their chances here against Jong PSV, however the away side picked up a solid win against Ajax on Monday, plus another victory prior to that against Roda. 1-1

Roda JC v Sparta Rotterdam

The second of two big ties this Friday. Roda, who are underperforming and have lost their last two, face Sparta who haven’t suffered defeat since the opening round. The home side, who were one of the favourites to win the league in August, currently sit in the bottom half. A win for both is crucial, however even more so for Sparta who sit level with Almere in the period standings with just two games to play. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-3

TOP Oss v Den Bosch

An all Brabant derby in Oss where they face rivals Den Bosch. Expect a lively encounter between two sides who are showing their quality this season despite no real expectations from either. Oss sit sixth, in great form and have only lost once in their last six. The away side are on a three game winning run themselves so this should be a great match. 2-2 | Over 2.5 Goals

Monday 22nd October (19:00 BST)

Jong Utrecht v FC Twente

To conclude this round, Jong Utrecht face Twente on Monday. Utrecht haven’t won in six however no real expectations were placed on them this year. On the other hand, Twente were backed by bookies to stroll the league this year with a couple of competitors, and that definitely hasn’t been the case. They’ve now lost at home to both Oss and MVV in recent weeks. Their still unbeaten away and a win is crucial for them to move back into the top three. 1-2
