NEC Nijmegen v Go Ahead Eagles

The first of two stand out fixtures this game round. This is sure to be a game full of goals between two sides who have netted 31 times between them already this season. NEC remain unbeaten and could go top with a win against current leaders Go Ahead here. It’s going to be a close one but I think the home side will take all three points. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 3-2 | Over 3.5 goals

Telstar v TOP Oss

Both sides have been involved in many low scoring encounters so far so don’t be surprised if we find another one here. Despite the lack of goals, Oss find themselves seventh which is respectable to say the least. They have only lost once and another win here could see them join the leading pack. Telstar have lost back to back games so it will be interesting to see how they react here. 2-1

Almere City v RKC Waalwijk

Almere were my dark horses going into this season and they are showing exactly why right now. Sitting forth and just two points behind the league leaders, their attacking style of play has been brilliant to watch. They face Waalwijk who have had an inconsistent start and could be here for the taking. 2-0 | Almere to win

Den Bosch v Jong AZ

One of the less attractive ties of the round, Den Bosch host Jong AZ looking for a win that will push them into the top half. This could be entertaining, scrappy, boring who knows, but I’m going for a bore draw in this one. 0-0 | Under 2.5 goals

Jong Ajax v FC Eindhoven

Jong Ajax half decent run of form came to an end last week against Go Ahead. They now face one of the two sides left in the Eerste Divisie yet to win a single game, FC Eindhoven. Only goal difference keeps them off the foot of the table. Playing away at last seasons league winners doesn’t sound a promising way to get their first three points either. 3-1

Helmond Sport v Volendam

Helmond began the season promisingly with three draws including one against Twente. They have since lost three on the trot and things are looking bleak for them. They face another side who are struggling, Volendam. The away side haven’t netted in their last three and have only scored twice all season! This will be an interesting one to see who can break away from their awful form. 1-1

Sparta Rotterdam v Dordrecht

Sparta have kept five clean sheets in a row which is a new league record. No better way of extending that streak against bottom side Dordrecht who have lost five in a row themselves. This should be fairly comfortable for the home side, who with a win should move into the top three. 2-0 | Sparta to win

Cambuur v Roda JC

The second stand out tie of the round is in Leeuwarden. Cambuur haven’t conceded in their last three, they face a Roda side who haven’t got going yet or rising to any sort of expectation yet. The home side could very well go top with three points here. This will be another close one easily going either way. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-2

Sunday 30th September (12:30 BST)

FC Twente v Jong PSV

Twente have found some form again with back to back away wins prior to this. They have settled well into second division life and a win here would really show the league that they are the ones to watch out for this season. A win for the home side could move them into second place if other results go there way. 2-0

Monday 1st October (19:00 BST)

Jong Utrecht v MVV Maastricht

To finish off the round, Jong Utrecht host a MVV side who have started the season well and have won their last two. I don’t expect this one to be full of goals but both sides will certainly fancy their chances. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-1
