Helmond Sport v Telstar

Helmond are now the only side in the Netherlands top two divisions without a win so far this season. The frustrating thing for them is that they’ve drawn five and lost the same amount as Jong Ajax in eighth, so the obvious problem is they are not converting draws into wins. They face Telstar who have dropped off since they’re good start, losing three of their previous four. This could be a good opportunity for the home side to pick up their first maximum. 1-0

NEC Nijmegen v FC Eindhoven

NEC finally lost last week at the hands of Almere who are flying right now. They play Eindhoven who picked up a last-minute equaliser against Twente while playing with ten men. This should be fairly comfortable for the home side, however failing to beat two title contenders in successive weeks will be a concern to boss Jack de Gier. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 3-0 | NEC Over 2.5 Goals

Volendam v Almere City

Volendam managed to get their first win in a month last week which should be a massive confidence boost to the side. They’ll need it as they play Almere who are now top of the league and have won five from six. There is just three games left of Period 1 in the Eerste Divisie, the winner automatically gets a play off spot for the end of the season, with promotion to the Eredivisie at stake. Almere are currently two points ahead of Sparta in second for this period. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-2

RKC Waalwijk v TOP Oss

Waalwijk won their opening two games of the season, however, haven’t picked up three points since. They face Oss who are playing quality football and picked up another win last week which moves them into seventh. I expect this one to be a close encounter with either side possibly nicking it. 1-1

Den Bosch v Dordrecht

Back to back wins sees Den Bosch move into the top half of the Eerste Divisie. They will fancy themselves to pick up another against Dordrecht who have struggled so far, but picked up their first win against Cambuur last week. A win for the home side could see them rise up to fifth. 2-0

Jong AZ v Jong Utrecht

Jong AZ have struggled as of late, failing to win their last three. Jong Utrecht have a similar pattern but without a win in four. This could be an interesting one with two young sides facing each other, potentially a high scoring game. 3-2 | Over 2.5 Goals

Sunday 14th October (11:15 BST)

Go Ahead v Roda JC

Potentially my tie of the round here in Deventer. Another draw for Go Ahead means thats just one win in four after winning their opening five. They still sit in second though, two points behind leaders Almere. After a big three points for Roda against Cambuur, they lost last week against Jong PSV which is poor from them. They have dropped to tenth which is very concerning. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-1 | Both Teams To Score

Sunday 14th October (13:30 BST)

Sparta Rotterdam v Cambuur

Another big game here between two sides who will be chasing promotion come May. Sparta come into this in good form and picked up a solid point at Go Ahead last week. Cambuur went top of the league after game week 5, however haven’t won in three, losing two of them. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-0

Sunday 14th October (15:45 BST)

FC Twente v MVV Maastricht

Twente were robbed in injury time last week away to Eindhoven where they drew 1-1 which denied them a forth straight win. They should find this one comfortable against MVV, however they are in decent form so who knows what could happen. Twente are three points behind Almere in the period standings, so three points here is crucial if they want to secure that play off spot early. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 3-1 | Twente to Win

Monday 15th October (19:00 BST)

Jong PSV v Jong Ajax

The leagues two strongest youth sides face each other here which should be a good watch for the neutral. I can see plenty of goals being scored in this one. Jong Ajax won last week but will want to finally get some form together which will push them into the top 5 at least where they belong. This game will be shown live on Fox Sports NL. 1-2
