Ricardo Kishna’s contract with Lazio is expiring this summer and the injured winger is unsure whether it will automatically be renewed.

The forward joined Lazio from Ajax back in 2015 but has struggled with constant injuries. His last game was in 2017 while on loan with ADO Den Haag.

Speaking to RTL Nieuws, Kishna revealed that his knee issue is getting better and he is focusing on next season, “Because we don’t know how this season will end yet, I want to focus on the next one. I want to be ready for that, when that may start,”

Kishna is still waiting to hear if his expiring contract with Lazio will be extended, “I have an expiring contract with Lazio and I don’t know what they intend to do with me. I haven’t talked to the club about that yet. There are stories that all players are automatically renewed to create some sort of security. That would be nice, although I am not too worried. I have built up a nice buffer to be able to wait it out for a while without any income, but I am really craving it (playing). “

“If I have to turn in my salary for an extension at Lazio, I don’t mind that. Not a single bad word about that club. They extended me before, while I had missed many games. I am very grateful to Lazio for that. They still have some credit from me. ”

A return to ADO Den Haag is not being ruled out, “ADO The Hague? There was contact this winter, but they did not get through. There was a phone call, but then it went quiet. I could certainly have done something for the club.”

The 25-year-old has only made 16 Serie A appearances in the past five years.
