Wolfsburg 2-2 Freiburg
Wolfsburg let a 2-0 lead slip against Freiburg, with Wout Weghorst scoring both goals for the hosts.
In the 14th minute, Weghorst fired in from close range before the tall striker netted a penalty in the 27th minute for his 14th goal of the campaign. Weghorst sustained a head injury as he was fouled for the penalty and wore a bandage for the rest of the match.
Lucas Holer pulled one back just before the break and Roland Sallai equalised for Freiburg in the second half.
Wolfsburg now sits sixth while Freiburg are 8th.
Paderborn 1-5 Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen’s chances of survival increased with a comfortable victory over bottom of the table Paderborn.
Davy Klaassen opened the scoring with a great header in the 20th minute, before Yuya Osako doubled the lead. Klaassen then made it 3-0 at the break with a controlled volley in the 39th minute.
In the second half, Maximillian Eggestein made it 4-0 before Abdelhamid Sabiri pulled back a consolation for the hosts. Niclas Fullkrug added a fifth in injury time.
Werder Bremen remain 17th but are now level on points with Fortuna Dusseldorf with three games to go.
Hertha Berlin 1-4 Eintracht Frankfurt
Bas Dost scored as Eintracht Frankfurt came away from Hertha Berlin with a comfortable victory.
Hertha were without Karim Rekik and Javairo Dilrosun but Krzysztof Piatek gave them the lead in the 24th minute. However, the hosts were then reduced to ten men before the break with Dedryck Boyata seeing red.
Six minutes into the second half, Bas Dost equalised before a double from Andre Silva and Evan N’Dicka settled the win.
Eintracht Frankfurt climbs above Hertha into ninth spot.
