Davy Klaassen told Fox Sports that he was not surprised to be left out of Netherlands squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Klaassen featured during Werder Bremen’s 3-1 win at Peter Bosz’s Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

Afterwards, he told Fox Sports, “If you win 1-3 here, you can be proud. I play a little different here than at Ajax, but that’s okay. I must also be able to use my powers in terms of attacks, I do that as well as I can. “

Klaassen has featured in every Werder Bremen Bundesliga game this season but he has still not received a recall to Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands squad.

The former Everton and Ajax midfielder is not surprised, though, “I was not surprised because I also read that the national coach has said that he does not want to change too much. The results are of course also good. Ultimately, I have to do my best and make sure that Koeman cannot ignore me. “
