According to Mundo Deportivo, Patrick Kluivert is a candidate to replace head coach Quique Setién.

Setién is under pressure after Barcelona failed to win La Liga, and with rumours of unrest behind the scenes. Xavi and Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has been linked as possible successors.

However, Mundo Deportivo is stating that Kluivert is an option and could be in charge for the Champions League games in August.

The Dutchman, who is currently head of youth recruitment, is popular in the Barcelona dressing room and would bring the intensity that Lionel Messi has been calling for.

Mundo Deportivo writes, “Kluivert is the leader on the bench that Barça now lacks, the trainer who has played at a high level in the Barça shirt and knows how to approach every situation,”
