PSG technical director Patrick Kluivert has refuted claims that the club tried to hijack Lyon’s move for winger Memphis Depay.

During Lyon’s presentation of Memphis Depay on Friday, the club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas claimed that PSG had outbid them at the last minute, but the Dutchman chose to sign for them from Manchester United instead.
However, PSG technical director Patrick Kluivert has now rubbished these claims, stating that he did speak to Memphis but not in order to sign the 22-year-old.
Kluivert told L’Equipe, “I talked to him, but not to capture him.
“I know Memphis well. I’m very glad he plays for Lyon.”
Memphis will make his Lyon debut on Sunday in their tie with Marseille.
