Art Langeler’s side got their first win of the campaign against Latvia last week, but the coach decided to make two changes for the trip to Ukraine with Riechedly Bazoer and Bart Ramselaar replaced by Guus Til and Pablo Rosario.
The hosts began the game on top and eventually took the lead from the penalty spot after half an hour, with Viktor Kovalenko capitalising on Denzel Dumfries handball.
After an hour, Netherlands equalised when Gervane Kastaneer raced to the byline before picking out Justin Kluivert in the box. The Ajax winger cut to the right before curling the ball into the top corner for his first goal at this level.
Neither side came close to finding a winner before the end and Netherlands had to settle for a point. Jong Oranje now have five points from their opening four matches. Next up is a tie with Andorra in November.
