Since Dick Advocaat stepped down from the role in November, Koeman has been the favourite to take charge of Oranje and now he appears to be the KNVB’s top candidate.

AD are reporting that KNVB General manager Eric Gudde has now approached the former Everton boss and asked him if he wants the job. Negotiations are said to be in full swing with the KNVB hoping that Koeman will be on the bench for Netherlands friendly with England in March.

Koeman has been out of work since being sacked by Everton earlier in the season. He has previously coached Vitesse, Ajax, Benfica, PSV, Valencia, AZ, Feyenoord and Southampton with Netherlands set to be his first international job.
