KNVB has called for Dutch clubs to wear black armbands and to observe a minute’s silence before all their friendly matches as the league is yet to start.
189 Netherland nationals were among those who were killed in the MH 17 crash in Ukraine when the plane was headed to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam.
The association has said that they find it appropriate to fly all the flags at half-mast.
The flags at Dutch Government buildings were already flying at half-mast following a call by the Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
