The KNVB Cup 3rd round started on Tuesday with eight ties. Below is a round-up of all the action.

psv genePSV 6-0 Genemuiden

Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven eased into the fourth round with a 6-0 hammering of amateur side Genemuiden.

Luuk de Jong opened the scoring for the home side after seven minutes by heading in a corner, but after that Genemuiden frustrated PSV and nearly equalised before the break but Patrick Lip shot wide.

Eventually PSV settled the game with Gaston Pereiro netting two goals in two minutes just after the hour mark before Davy Propper smashed a strike into the top corner on 65 minutes to make it four. Hector Moreno slotted in from close range for the fifth before Pereiro sealed his hat-trick late on with a nice finish after a fine team move.

Dordrecht 0-1 Capelle (after extra-time)

Amateur side Capelle caused the shock of the night as they knocked out Dordrecht after a 1-0 win extra-time.

Dordrecht dominated proceedings but couldn’t find the net and after the match entered extra time, Jordao Pattinama netted the winner for Capelle.

VVSB 3-1 Emmen

Amateur side VVSB caused another shock as they knocked out Eerste Divisie’s seventh placed side FC Emmen.

VVSB dominated from the start and took the lead through Bas Ruigrok in the 12th minute and a superb volley from French Niel made it 2-0 in the second half. Jurjan Mannes pulled one back for Emmen, but Tommy Bekooij made it 3-1.

Heracles 3-1 Koninklijke

Heracles labored into the next round after an unconvincing win over Sunday league side Koninklijke.

Striker Paul Gladon gave Heracles the lead on 18 minutes, but Pieter Bas den Hartigh equalised for the amateur side before the break. In the second half though Heracles proved too strong as Tim Breukers and Iliass Bel Hassani fired the Almelo side into round four.

Go Ahead Eagles 0-2 Willem II

Two second half goals from Richairo Zivkovic saw Willem II knock out Go Ahead Eagles in Deventer.

The on-loan Ajax forward nodded home the opener on 70 minutes from Erik Falkenburg’s cross, and the duo combined again before the end to seal the victory.
