Ajax are safely through to the KNVB Cup second round after a 5-1 win over Scheveningen.

Marcel Keizer made several changes to the side that drew 1-1 at ADO Den Haag at the weekend with Carel Eiting, Kasper Dolberg and Siem de Jong all coming into the starting line-up.

Dolberg hadn’t scored a goal in nine previous appearances this campaign, but he took only five minutes to open the scoring with a strike from distance that was too strong for the home side’s goalkeeper. Ajax were then frustrated in their search for a second which eventually came just before the break with Dolberg providing the cross for Siem de Jong to head in from close range.
