Cambuur went into the clash top of the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and they looked confident in the early stages despite being without top scorer Robert Muhren.
The hosts peppered the Feyenoord goal in the first half but Kenneth Vermeer and the post prevented Cambuur from taking the lead.
After the break, Feyenoord showed signs of life and in the 67th minute, they had the lead with Steven Berghuis curling an excellent strike into the top corner.
With fifteen minutes left, Renato Tapia stupidly brought down Delano Ledan to gift Cambuur a penalty. Robin Maulun equalised from the spot.
Luis Sinisterra then had a strike cleared off the line before Jens Toornstra struck the bar. It seemed the game was heading for extra-time but in the 87th minute, Marcos Senesi fired in a Sinisterra cross to book Feyenoord’s place in the next round.
