The KNVB Cup first round continued on Thursday evening with AZ Alkmaar and FC Emmen easing through against amateur opponents.

Alcides 0-6 AZ Alkmaar

John van den Brom handed Leon Bergsma and Dorin Rotariu their first starts for AZ, while Marko Vejinovic made his return from injury.

Bjørn Johnsen opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Oussama Idrissi made it 2-0 with a nice finish after cutting inside from the wing. Adam Maher’s excellent free-kick made it 3-0 before Rotariu netted his first goal for the club just before the break.

In the second half, AZ Alkmaar remained in control and Idrissi netted another two goals, including a penalty, to complete his hat-trick and the rout.

OFC 1-3 Emmen

On loan Heracles Almelo midfielder Reuven Niemeijer opened the scoring for Emmen in the tenth minute but the Eredivisie side had to wait until the second half to net another. Glenn Bijl scored from the spot after a foul on Henk Bos.

Bijl netted another penalty after a foul on Luciano Slagveer before Rachid el Yaghmouri scored a consolation for the hosts late on.
