NAC Breda are into the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup semi-finals after a shock 3-1 win at AZ Alkmaar.

After knocking out PSV in the last round, NAC headed to Alkmaar looking to cause another major upset.

AZ started brightly and Myron Boadu put a great chance wide in the tenth minute. However, NAC grew in confidence as the half wore on.

In the 35th minute, NAC Breda stunned the home crowd when Mounir El Allouchi found the net via AZ right-back Jonas Svensson.

AZ pushed forward looking for the equaliser in the second half but on the hour-mark, NAC made it 2-0. Robin Schouten found the net after a swift counter.

Oussama Idrissi quickly pulled one back for AZ Alkmaar five minutes later, but despite pressure an equaliser did not come. Five minutes from time, NAC sealed their place in the last four through Javi Noblejas.

NAC Breda will now meet the winner of the tie between Heerenveen and Feyenoord.
