Thursday saw the final four first round matches in the KNVB take place with Feyenoord, Vitesse and Utrecht in action. Below is a round-up of all the action.

fey-knvbFeyenoord 4-1 Oss

Feyenoord came from behind to eventually ease to a win over Eerste Divisie side FC Oss. After only three minutes, Tom Boere stunned De Kuip by netting on the rebound after Brad Jones had made a save. However, the lead only lasted ten minutes before Steven Berghuis equalised after tricking Oss keeper Ronald Koeman Jr, the son of Everton boss Ronald Koeman.

Oss held their own for the rest of the first half and had chances to regain their lead with Dennis Janssen firing into the side netting before Boere blasted over with only Jones to beat. Eventually after the hour mark Feyenoord took the lead through Michiel Kramer before goals from Bilal Basacikoglu and Nicolai Jorgensen wrapped up victory.

Twente 1-3 Utrecht

Two last minute goals saw Utrecht come out on top in the all Eredivisie clash in Enschede. Richairo Zivkovic netted the opener on 17 minutes after deflecting Nacer Barazite’s shot into the net with his heel. The hosts drew themselves level after 54 minutes through Enes Unal, who finished well after Yaw Yeboah’s free kick came off the wall. The game seemed to be heading for extra time but with two minutes to go Sebastien Haller put Utrecht in front before Zivkovic wrapped up the win in the 90th minute. Twente had thrown Nick Marsman up for a corner but after the ball broke loose Utrecht broke and Zivkovic showed amazing pace to finish into an empty net.

De Dijk 2-7 Vitesse

Amateur side De Dijk proved no match for Vitesse Arnhem, who ran riot with five goals in the second half. It seemed like Vitesse had a game on their hands when they went into the break only 2-1 up, thanks to Lewis Baker and Kelvin Leerdam, but after the break the Eredivisie side romped to victory. Ricky van Wolfswinkel added the third from the spot before an Adnane Tighadouini double made it 5-1. Kaars scored a second for De Dijk but any chance of a comeback was quashed as Milot Rashica and Arshak Koryan added late goals.

Other result: HSC’21 1-5 TEC
