Eerste Divisie side MVV then shocked Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag 2-1 to cause the upset of the night. Rick Geenen was the hero for the hosts, as he scored a first half double, and although Mike van Duinen pulled one back, MVV held on.

NEC Nijmegen followed their first league win of the season at the weekend with a 1-0 win at FC Eindhoven, with striker Michael Higdon once again scoring.

In a battle between two amateur sides, JVC proved too strong for EVV in a 3-0 victory, with Van Veen netting a double, and Latupeirissa scoring the third.

Amateur side IJsselmeervogels also caused a shock, as they knocked out Eerste Divisie side FC Emmen after coming from behind to win 3-2. Alexander Bannink had given the home side the lead, before Verheijdt equalised. Emmen retook the lead through Quenten Martinus, but another goal from Verheijdt, and a Ahahaoui strike gave Ijsselmeervogels the win.

Utrecht needed extra time to overcome amateur side Kozakken Boys, eventually winning 2-1 thanks to a Jens Toornstra goal. Kozakken Boys went ahead through Irilmazbilek on 26 minutes, before Jacob Mulenga equalised in the 2nd half.

In an all Eredivisie tie, Cambuur threw away a 2-0 goal lead, before beating NAC Breda on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Ritzmaier, and Christovao gave Cambuur a half time lead, but Seuntjens, and Hadouir sent the match into extra time, and eventually penalties. With penalties matched at 4-4, Lurling smashed over the bar for NAC, before Bijker scored the winner for Cambuur.
