On Tuesday the third round of the KNVB Cup got underway with ADO Den Haag the highest casualty of the round so far.

Ajax got the round underway with a comfortable 4-1 win over ASWH, with Siem de Jong, Viktor Fischer, Danny Hoesen, and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson scoring. Read our full match report here.
Eerste Divisie side MVV then shocked Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag 2-1 to cause the upset of the night. Rick Geenen was the hero for the hosts, as he scored a first half double, and although Mike van Duinen pulled one back, MVV held on.
NEC Nijmegen followed their first league win of the season at the weekend with a 1-0 win at FC Eindhoven, with striker Michael Higdon once again scoring.
In a battle between two amateur sides, JVC proved too strong for EVV in a 3-0 victory, with Van Veen netting a double, and Latupeirissa scoring the third.
Amateur side IJsselmeervogels also caused a shock, as they knocked out Eerste Divisie side FC Emmen after coming from behind to win 3-2. Alexander Bannink had given the home side the lead, before Verheijdt equalised. Emmen retook the lead through Quenten Martinus, but another goal from Verheijdt, and a Ahahaoui strike gave Ijsselmeervogels the win.
Utrecht needed extra time to overcome amateur side Kozakken Boys, eventually winning 2-1 thanks to a Jens Toornstra goal. Kozakken Boys went ahead through Irilmazbilek on 26 minutes, before Jacob Mulenga equalised in the 2nd half.
In an all Eredivisie tie, Cambuur threw away a 2-0 goal lead, before beating NAC Breda on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Ritzmaier, and Christovao gave Cambuur a half time lead, but Seuntjens, and Hadouir sent the match into extra time, and eventually penalties. With penalties matched at 4-4, Lurling smashed over the bar for NAC, before Bijker scored the winner for Cambuur.
