On Wednesday, the third round of the KNVB Cup continued, with PSV, Feyenoord, and holders AZ Alkmaar all in action.

hupperts abPSV Eindhoven were first up, as they looked for revenge against Roda JC, who beat them in the Eredivisie last weekend. Despite dominating the whole match, it was Roda JC who progress after a shock 3-1 victory in the Philips Stadion. Mark Jan Fledderus, and a Guus Huppert’s double put Roda 3-0 up, before Joshua Brenet pulled a late goal back for PSV.

Holders AZ Alkmaar eased into the last 16, as they hammered Eerste Divisie side Achilles’29 7-0, with Avdic scoring twice, along with a Lewis double, Haps, Gouweleeuw, and Van Overheem all scored in the comfortable win.

Groningen are into the next round after beating amateur side Capelle thanks to an own goal, and a late Eric Botteghin effort which saw them win 2-0.

PEC Zwolle continued their fine season with an easy 4-0 win over Wilhelmina, with Thomas, Hiwat, Lachman, and Fred Benson all scoring.

Gael Kakuta netted twice to help Vitesse into a 5-0 win over Noordwijk, with Van der Struijk, Chanturia, and Junior also netting in the comfortable win for the Eredivisie side.

Excelsior’31 netted twice late on, but they suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat to Heracles Almelo. Mark Uth scored twice for the Eredivisie side, along with Rosheuvel, Cziommer, and Bryan Linssen.

Up last was Feyenoord, as they looked to get past amateur side Hoek, and they were successful, easing through with a 3-0 victory, thanks to an own goal, along with Otman Bakkal’s first since rejoining, and a Mitchell Te Vrede strike.
