The 24-year-old is expected to depart Feyenoord this summer and has been heavily linked with Italian giants Roma this week, but a reunion with former boss Ronald Koeman could also be on the cards.
Speaking to Fox Sports, Koeman confirmed that he will consider signing Jordy Clasie, but only if supposed Arsenal and Tottenham target Morgan Schneiderlin leaves Southampton this summer.
Koeman said, “There’s some interest for Morgan. Everyone knows that. If he leaves then certainly Clasie is on our list.”
Koeman has already raided his former club for striker Graziano Pelle, and would need to cough up around €12 million if he is to prize Clasie away from De Kuip, where he is contracted until 2018.
