The Everton coach was a guest on Tafel met Kees on Sunday morning and was asked about the current Netherlands national team. Koeman criticised the current selection policy of Danny Blind and wonders why Erik Pieters has been overlooked.
Koeman said, “Of course, Blind’s choices become more limited, but I think there is also some good players that are not called, but who do belong there.”
After naming Pieters, he added, “Playing every week for two or three years at Stoke City and he is doing just fine. What is the reason for not selecting that boy?
Koeman was overlooked for the Netherlands job in favour of Guus Hiddink when Louis van Gaal stepped down. The 53-year-old is still looking to take charge of Oranje in the future, “If I get a chance to be coach of Orange, I would still love to do it”
Koeman you will rescue the dutch team really we need you as Dutch Internation coach.
Blind is causing a disaster to oranje. Team will not qualify to WC.
Koeman is a great coach. Not afraid to change his tactics and formation when need be. I still feel a large part of the reason the Dutch are struggling is their rigid adherence to the 4-3-3 since LVG left. Sometimes you have to change things up, especially in matches where you are missing key wingers or against opponents that park the bus and do it effectively when you need more than one forward in the box.
But I don’t think Koeman will coach the national team until much later in his managerial career.
Koeman for Oranje 2017!
Blind has to have a defensive midfield.Formations and strategy lacking.
Yes. Koeman will take charge in oranje one day but not soon. Frank De Boer need to take charge now.
