koemanWith Feyenoord losing 2-1 at home to Heracles, and in need of a goal, Pelle stupidly made a headbutt gesture towards an opposing player, and was shown a straight red, as his side slumped to defeat.

Now according to Voetbal International’s Feyenoord watcher Martijn Krabbendam, Pelle’s boss Ronald Koeman is considering whether the Italian is the right man for the captaincy.

Pelle was handed the armband three weeks ago, after Koeman stripped it from defender Stefan de Vrij, but now the Feyenoord boss will consider another change.

Koeman did not name the temporary captain for the three games in which Pelle will now be suspended when he spoke to Algemeen Dagblad.

However midfielder Jordy Clasie is emerging as the favourite to take over, ahead of De Vrij, and experienced centre back Joris Mathijsen.

Clasie has controlled the Feyenoord midfield for the past few years, but may now be put in charge of the whole team, a role which i feel he will flourish in.
