Koeman has overseen a revival in the national team, which is one win away from sealing a place at next summer’s European Championships.
KNVB director Nico-jan Hoogma told Good Morning Eredivisie on Fox Sports that he is hoping to keep Koeman in charge until the World Cup in 2022, despite links with Barcelona in the Spanish media.
He said, “I hope that we can work together for a very long time, because I think it is going very well. But Ronald has long indicated that he wants to be a Barcelona trainer someday. Let’s see what will happen. Success at Oranje will certainly help him, just like everyone else helps us. But again: I hope the trajectory continues up to and including the World Cup in Qatar. “
Hoogma then confirmed there is a clause in Koeman’s contract if Barcelona did come calling, “Agreements have been made about that. They have to pay for that.”
Koeman has a contract with the Netherlands until the summer of 2022.
Koeman has not proven that is an above average coach so this Barcelona thing is pure non sense.
