koemKoeman left Feyenoord at the end of the season after three successful years at the club, with the target of moving to a club in England, Spain or Germany.

NOS are reporting that Koeman has traveled to England to hold talks with Southampton, after the Premier League club officially approached the 51-year-old.  Southampton are looking for a new boss after Mauricio Pochettino left the club to join Tottenham.

A photo of Koeman at London’s Heathrow airport has also emerged on Twitter as it appears an agreement nears.

The former Ajax, and Barcelona legend started his managerial career at Vitesse, before going on to coach Ajax, Benfica, PSV, Valencia, AZ Alkmaar and then Feyenoord.

If Koeman does take over at Saint Mary’s he will reportedly be given a £50 million transfer budget, and will undoubtedly be linked with a number of his former Feyenoord players, including striker Graziano Pelle.
